Welcome to CommunityLinks Switzerland.

CommunityLinks is a non-profit association, created in 2009 by a group of expat families that lived in the Canton of Zug who wanted to find a way to give back to their community. Formalised as an association in 2013, CommunityLinks has since worked on different projects. 

The main project is the annual Christmas Party for the Children of Asylum Seekers living in the Canton of Zug. Over the years, more than 4000 asylum seekers and refugees’ children were invited with their families to share a festive event with dinner, with games, and gifts distribution.

Each year our Christmas party is built on the same foundation : In an amazing, collaborative effort, volunteers of all ages help to make this a successful event.
Young primary school children prepare decorations and/or raise funds, books, write greeting cards,
Teenage volunteers prepare games to entertain the children during the party.
Photographers donate time and resources to capture the event.
A volunteer shopping team buys gifts that are in turn wrapped by another volunteer group. And of course, many other volunteers and their families that donate time and endless energy to organise the party and host it.
We could not offer this party without the support of local businesses.
Over the years we have gotten many businesses get involved through various efforts such as donating money, gift cards, toys, gadgets, food and drinks.
Most importantly, each year with the help of the Asyl Amt of Zug social services, we are able to invite and connect with the asylum seekers. Thanks to their incredible time and effort they dedicate to helping us, we are able to organise the party.
